Incredible women in Iran for women 's Days March 8, 2008

shirin.jpg

women in Iran are really incredible. They aren't forced to do somethings. They are stronge and when they think, they want to do somethings , Be sure they do it.
I remember when I was a kid, My country became revolution. But most of women in Iran don't accept some rules about themselves.one of them is wearing Hejab(chador). One of my memory is about this winter. The weather was either cold or snowy, and the streets were full of snow.So we had to wear boots.Suddenly our goverment decided to don't let wemon wear boots.Because, they beleived that boots on jean was provocative.
wowo.......It was clear cut.Vise verca after this news by goverment most of women and I wore boots on jeans

Some Friday's Come Earlier Than Others

Its that time of the month, it rolls around regularly and reminds me of how marvelously warm my bed is...

It's the first Friday of the month, which means I'm rolling out of bed at 05:00 to prepare for my English Breakfast Radio special.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I love doing the radio - who knew two years ago, when I was first invited into a studio to be interviewed as a guest, that I would become so hooked on the high of it! Added to that, with no cameras around, you can, if you don't mind being seen in public this way, rock up in some phenomenally flannel pjs!

I've got a good face - and fashion - for radio... especially at 05:00!!!

Thoughts on Terrorism

Terrorism is the "weapon of the weakest." As long there are strong and there are weak, there will be terrorism. We can kill their master-minds, but new ones will take their place. Mirror, mirror...we can not make them be like us, just like they can't make us be like them. We think we are obviously right. They think they are obviously right. Their own oppressed have to rise up against their oppressive ideologies, just like the settlers rose up against Britain, and then the Yankees rose up against the South, and then the Civil rights leaders rose up and got the black vote, then, finally, women fought for and got the vote and some equal rights, here. An old dog learns new tricks

For 30 years I've written poetry, which I started publishing about 25 years ago. Always the poetry, just poetry. In Cape Town, my best friend and I ran the school newspaper ... well ... there was another editor involved, but WE did all the work. I was an art editor in another school journal when I returned to the U.S.

The point is, until I started publishing The Poetry Victims in 2004, I never published (even attempted to publish) anything but poetry and photographs. In The Poetry Victims, I add commentary of my own to the rest of the issue which is in email format, for instance, compared to the blog ring versions.
