In the aftermath of the recent election, members of the arts community have been suffering from a “bubble-psychosis.” This sensation that our bubble has been punctured destroys our hopes that art can bring about change. Before we all give in to defeatism and apathy, before we all toss in the towel, Art at a Time Like This would like to use this moment to think about how we can conceive of art during this dark period.
It is time to engage in community building and creative action. It is time to think about our audiences and our impact. We are challenged to consider, discuss, and argue at length about how to reactivate art and recharge our batteries.
