The Institute for Public Architecture (IPA) welcomes applications for the 2026 Independent Project Residency based at the historic Block House on Governors Island.
The IPA Independent Project Residency program invites emerging and mid-career practitioners – whose work focuses on the public realm – to live and work during an eleven week live-in Residency at the IPA Block House on Governors Island. The Residency seeks to create new interdisciplinary opportunities for collective thinking by providing communal space for architects, urbanists, landscape architects, designers, artists, and researchers to live, work, and develop independent projects within the community of the residency.

New Dance Alliance is accepting applications to show emerging performance work at Performance Mix Festival #40.
The upcoming Performance Mix Festival marks our 40th anniversary of our iconic performance art celebration, and we plan to celebrate it in a special way!
Submit your application for your work to be considered for PMF40, happening June 4-7th, 2026. We will be back at the Underground Theater at Abrons Arts Center this year!
All works selected from the application will be short works up to 15 minutes. These works will be performed Thursday, June 4th, Friday, June 5th and Sunday, June 7th.

This 3-month intensive supports emerging artists, cultural workers, and organizers who want to deepen their creative practice, explore socially engaged art, and build community.
EmergeNYC is an incubator and affinity network for socially engaged artists to develop their creative voice, explore the intersections of art and activism, and connect to a thriving community of BIPOC, migrant, and LGBTQIA+ practitioners who challenge dominant narratives through cultural resistance.
The Flagship Program in-person at the BAX Annex is led by george emilio sánchez.
Applications open Tuesday, November 25 and will be due Thursday, January 15, 2026.
