Screenwriters and documentary filmmakers in the Middle East and North Africa are invited by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission to take part in its international screenwriting and pitch competition designed to identify, develop and launch the careers of outstanding filmmakers. The deadline to submit materials is July 15.
The program exposes emerging filmmakers to high-level industry decision makers and facilitates financing for talented writers and directors from around the world.

Youth ages 9 to 25 are invited to submit short videos promoting harmony in diverse societies to the PLURAL+ video festival, to be held at the Paley Center for Media in New York City on December 18. Deadline for submitting entries is September 30.
PLURAL+ is a video festival for youth-produced media aimed at building a more inclusive, tolerant society. The festival will address key issues in today's youth communities, such as migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights and social cohesiveness.
Applicants must meet the age requirement by September 30. Entrants may work together in groups, but the entry will be judged in the age category of the eldest youth.
The Water Integrity Network (WIN) is sponsoring a photography contest for photographers around the world, which asks the question: what does water integrity mean and how can you visualize it? The deadline for submission is June 28 at midnight.
Entrants can submit up to three photos visualizing either the impact of corruption and/or the effort of anti-corruption work in the water sector. Each one should have a short conceptualized caption with a maximum of 30 words per caption.
A jury will select the winning photo and award the final prize of a trip to the Stockholm World Water Week 2009, from August 16 to 22, including a return economy class fair, visa/insurance fees, registration fees, per diems and accommodation for the entire week.
