Filmmakers, writers and students are invited to submit narratives, documentaries, short films, and animation to be featured at the 6th annual ION international film festival, to be held in Lagos, Nigeria in December. Deadline: September 30.
ION International Film Festival is a touring festival dedicated to promoting independent film, animation and narratives. It seeks to encourage new artists that are creating socially relevant art that positively affects the world.
As part of its effort to raise international awareness the festival takes place in a different country each year. Last year it was held in Dubai, UAE and this year the ION International Film Festival is coming to Lagos, Nigeria.
Applications are invited for an International Artists Residency @ Khoj, for public art projects exploring themes of environment & ecology in public spaces around Delhi for 4- 6 weeks in January 2010.
Delhi, the capital city of India, could easily qualify today as one amongst the world's most dynamic and complex urban settings in contemporary times. Characterized by its unique multi-layered
historicity and multiple urbanisms Delhi however, is facing a relentless pace of contemporary urban growth making it one of the rapidly expanding cities of the world.

The City of Brea Art Gallery is producing an exhibition entitled “For Love or Money” featuring artwork from artists who work by day work as hired hands for design companies, advertising agencies, etc., yet by night exercise personal creative outlets.
“For Love or Money” will showcase work from both aspects of the artist’s career, with examples of personal art contrasted with their “for the money” work.
We are seeking submission from interested artists to be reviewed for inclusion. There is no entry fee; submissions will be judged by the merit of the work alone.

Art Moves Africa (AMA) is an international non- for-profit organisation aiming to facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges within the African continent. AMA offers travel funds to artists, arts professionals and cultural operators living and working in Africa to travel within the African continent in order to engage in the exchange of information, the enhancement of skills, the development of informal networks and the pursuit of cooperation.

California Arts Day 2009 Poster Competition for California college students-- $500 prize
Each year the California Arts Council promotes the first Friday in October as California Arts Day to highlight the importance of the arts and creativity in the state. This year the agency has a contest for California college students and instructors who are talented graphic artists and designers, with a grand prize of $500. The assignment: create the California Arts Day 2009 poster, utilizing the lyrics, concepts and/or intention of the song "The Art in Me," also known as The California Arts Song.

FOR EMERGING MEDIA ARTISTS
LOS ANGELES – Visual Communications' Armed with a Camera Fellowship is now accepting applications for all people of Asian Pacific American descent who are under 30 years of age. $500 will be awarded to recipients as well as access to Visual Communications' post-production facilities, a $700 a week value, and a one-year VC Filmmaker Membership valued at $100.
