The Autry is dedicated to exploring and sharing the stories, experiences, and perceptions of the diverse peoples of the American West. The Autry Museum seeks to hire Temporary Exhibit Prep staff and Collections Assistants to assist with our upcoming annual exhibition, Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale. Work will begin in January and continue for 3 to 4 weeks. Primary responsibilities include: receiving and unpacking crated paintings and sculptures; assisting with the installation and de-installation of the exhibition; assisting with repacking and prepping for outgoing shipments of crates. The position will also be responsible for assisting with other exhibit and collection-related projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
This position requires two or more years of experience working in a museum, gallery, or related environments as well as experience in handling art and artifacts. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Museum Studies, Art, Art History, Anthropology, or Conservation) is preferred. Exhibition installation experience is a plus.
