Temporary Space LA, an alternative exhibition platform to the traditional art gallery (located in mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles), is seeking enthusiastic, people-person-people who love art. Temporary Space presents the complete archives of selected mid-to-late career artists through exhibitions and digital applications. Our mission is to enable rich and unfiltered interaction with an artist's entire body of work, and to make purchasing the art simple and fast. Unlike the traditional gallery model, Temporary Space will not represent artists. Instead of showcasing the art of developing or emerging artists, Temporary Space will exhibit the art of mid-career and late-career artists, with particular emphasis upon artists who have been under-appreciated, both critically and economically, by the art establishment.

Temporary Space will present the artists entire body of work in simultaneous exhibitions at our physical location (currently 5522 Wilshire Blvd) and online. This will allow the ideas, sketches, studies and related works to be accessible, in addition to the works on display. There will be no sales or curatorial restrictions on the exhibited art. Temporary Space will function as the connection between the artist and the collector, eliminating the middleman and the exorbitant fees they charge the artist.

Role of Art Exhibit/Event Guides for Temporary Space LA In collaboration with the Executive Director/Lead Curator and Exhibition Director, the Art Exhibit/Event Guides will:

1. Welcome and greet visitors to Temporary Space LA; relate information as concerns the current art exhibitions and related technological components to encourage full engagement with the artworks on display.

2. Monitor and update visitor interest for art purchasing. We have no 'sales people' for art sales at Temporary Space. However, the guides will be required to have comprehensive knowledge of the artist and the artwork shown, as well as the full digital archive presented for the artists and the related technological components, in order to assist with visitors purchasing art directly through the application on site - and that of connecting directly with the artist.

3. Take phone calls - answer questions - and forward messages to appropriate Temporary Space staff members.

4. Ensure all technological components in the space (projectors/sensors/etc.) are functioning properly before space is open to the public and fully functioning during all public hours.

5. Ensure technology devices provided to visitors are explained, checked out, returned after use and cleaned/reset for new visitors.

6. Assist for numerous Temporary Space programming events, including after-hours opening events, musical programming, artistic events programming and more.

7. Overall act as a welcoming, 'public' face for Temporary Space. Our goal is to be an all-inclusive art exhibition and events space for everyone. This is a contracted position. The wage is $15 per hour. We are seeking people to work 20 - 30 hours a week. There will always be two or more staff members present for our operation hours of Monday - Saturday, 10am - 8pm. We will also expect our guides to be available for special evens scheduling.

We anticipate hiring as early as March 20, 2015. Paid training will be provided through March 20, 2015.
