Faculty positions at the University of California entail research, teaching,
and service responsibilities. The Department of Art is looking for a
colleague producing and exhibiting sculpture at the forefront of
contemporary art. The department seeks someone who possesses a deep
understanding of contemporary art with a thoughtful appreciation of
historical precedent, challenging the limits of existing conventions while
embracing both new and traditional methods of production. The successful

undergraduate levels, as well as lecture courses in his/her field of
expertise to a general undergraduate population. In addition, the new

share in departmental administrative duties such as program planning and
committee participation.
This a growing department of 16 full-time faculty. A heterogeneous group of
artists and scholars, the department values rigor, inquiry, and
experimentation over specific ideologies or intellectual methods. The
department’s research and instruction address art in a multitude of cultural

conventional art world. Areas of interest include, but not limited to, the
legacies of modern and post-modern art discourses, “post-studio” practices,
