The Network of Ensemble Theaters (NET) is a national network organization providing programs and services to ensemble theaters and artists, and their supporters and allies. With a mission to "propel ensemble practice to the forefront of American culture and society," NET's efforts focus on advocacy, knowledge sharing/building, and ensemble/field sustainability through programs such as the MicroFest USA convening series, Ensembles ABCs for professional development, and NET/TEN to support tours and exchanges. Throughout our 16-year history, NET has remained an artist-centered and artist-run organization. Our membership includes over 200 ensembles, individuals, students, and affiliate organizations in 33 states.

Job Title: Program Associate
Job Status: 0.75 FTE (30 hrs/wk)

Position Description: NET seeks to hire a part-time Program Associate who, at the direction of the Executive Director, will primarily implement and manage the pilot round of the NET Touring and Exchange Network (NET/TEN), and work on NET's professional development program, Ensembles ABC, along with other related tasks.
The aim of NET/TEN is to support artist-to-artist exchanges of knowledge, methods, and performances. The Program Associate will manage NET/TEN's grantmaking activities, monitor the pilot program's development and progress, and communicate with the field, In addition, s/he will schedule and market NET's Ensembles ABCs professional development workshops, which will be offered in person throughout the country and on-line

This is a part-time (0.75 FTE, i.e. 30 hours/week) position based at NET in Los Angeles, with the flexibility for at-home work as mutually agreed upon. Work will include virtual collaboration with other NET staff and contractors in locations nationwide.
This position plays a key role in the organization's ability to manifest its mission at the highest level. NET is a growth-phase organization and, pending funding renewal, we expect to increase the position to full-time, with expanded duties, in the following year.

Responsibilities: 
The position serves as the administrative foundation for the programs department. Key duties include:
NET/TEN:
• Identify and engage a broad network of program constituents;
• Work with field contacts to identify and inventory potential projects, artists, and organizational partners to participate in pilot projects;
• Manage application process, from initial inquiry through final notification and reporting, including support services for potential applicants;
• Identify and recruit peer panel participants;
• Work with applicants to develop partnerships, finalize funding allocations, and build exchange opportunities;
• Engage and oversee the services of evaluation and research contractors;
• Represent NET/TEN at theater festivals, theater, and presenter conferences and convenings as appropriate;
• Manage program budgets and prepare both financial and narrative reports to funders;
• Inform and support efforts to interest potential funding partners;

Ensemble ABC
• Identify potential communities and partners interested in hosting Ensembles ABCs professional development workshops;
• As appropriate, travel to coordinate and manage workshops;
• Engage, secure, and oversee the services of session leaders and panelists for each workshop;

Related Program Assignments:
• Effectively run meetings, workshop and field conversations;
• Collaborate on the development and implementation of program marketing strategies;
• Other program-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher, and 5+ years related experience, resulting in:
• Significant knowledge of and experience in the theater, presenting and/or touring fields;
• Experience in non-profit arts program development and management;
• Experience managing and reporting on project budgets, and working with funders and field leaders;
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills.;
• Computer skills with proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, comfort with databases, cloud-based file sharing systems, and social media;
• Ability to travel out of state on work-related assignments, as needed;
• Ability to perform independent work effectively in a casual work environment, and to collaborate both in person and virtually.

Compensation: Salary is competitive with non-profit industry standards and Includes pro-rated vacation, personal leave, and benefits contribution.
