Arteles is calling open-minded creative participants from all disciplines such as writing, music/sound, fine art, photography, contemporary research, film/video, multidisciplinary arts, installation, painting, new media etc. Also other fields of creativity are now open such as graphic design and fashion. The selection of artists is done by the Arteles administration along with selected network members or invited creative professionals.

The *Bootleg Dance Festival* is presented by Bootleg Theater to use its

The Downtown Art Center Gallery, the largest nonprofit gallery on Gallery Row in Downtown Los Angeles, is holding a juried exhibition. The Opening Reception will be held on a Downtown Art Walk Thursday, which brings approximately 10,000 visitors to Gallery Row each month.

51st ANNUAL LOS ANGELES COUNTY HOLIDAY CELEBRATION

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission is seeking County-based youth and adult community and professional choirs, dance companies, and music ensembles to perform in the 51st Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration. The Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration is a free public event that honors the spirit of many cultures and holiday traditions through music, song and dance and takes place every December 24th at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles. The stage production is also broadcast live on television, and an annual one-hour highlight broadcast is carried nationally on PBS.

The LA Female Playwrights Initiative (www.lafpi.com) is a grassroots organization. It has commissioned a study of the play-producing tends in the LA theater community from 2000-2009. Responses are requested from LA-based playwrights and theater companies by July 30, 2010. Our goal is to find out the number of productions by male/female playwrights put up on LA stages over the last ten years. Please report and let your voice be heard.
