Contemporary Art Gallery Online announces their 4th Annual Themed International “All PAINTINGS” Online Art Competition for the month of January 2017. Contemporary Art Gallery Online encourages entries from all painting medium artists regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at Contemporary Art Gallery Online during the month of February 2017. Awards will be given for the top 5 chosen winners. In addition to the winning images, depending on the amount and the quality of the entries received, Honorable Recognition awards will also be presented. This competition closes January 28, 2017. Winners will be announced on February 13, 2017. Entry Fee: $15 for up to three images and $25 for up to five images.

The next episode of the LET ME BE FRANK web documentary series has just been released. Episode 5, “A Channel, Not A Creator” features readings by Kayla Moon and Edna Floretta. Kayla Moon is a journalist, author, activist, poet, artist and mother who became aware of Frank’s work after his death when she knocked on the door of his Berkeley home, asking, “What the heck is going on here?”. Episode 5 includes a new animated segment, “How To Handle An Anthropologist”, featuring interviews from the upcoming book by the same name, a collection of 12 years of conversations between anthropologist Russell Shuttleworth, PhD and Frank Moore. This episode also features Frank’s poem, “Tribal Performance”, read by writer and performance artist Edna Floretta. The Hemispheric Institute is excited to announce that applications are now open for our upcoming program, EMERGENYC 2017 (April 8–July 8, 2017). See below for information about the program, application guidelines, and the deadline for applications.

The Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics at New York University is now accepting applications for its tenth year of EMERGENYC, the Hemispheric New York Emerging Performers Program focused on political performance. EMERGENYC aims to support the development of “hemispheric” emerging artists through a program of workshops and events between April 8 and July 8, 2017. The deadline to submit applications is February 6, 2017.

2. Write a letter to President Elect Trump on his first day in office.

3. Send your letters to LAST DAY, FIRST DAY (and if inclined, The White House).

4. Letters collected until Inauguration Day, at which point they’ll be self-publshed into a 2-volume artist book.
