AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

I competed in a "Dual Projection Format" Competition in the Lynn Photographic Association group that in belong to. I was extremely nervous about this since I am not competitive and no one likes to have their work picked on. But, I did want to learn and grow so I pushed myself to join this monthly competition. Last night was the first competition. We could either enter three slides or three digital prints in different categories. I entered three digital images in the Digital Arts/Creative Category. I had been so nervous about this night since entering. I had wondered if I did the right thing in entering. So, last night I sat there while viewing these beautiful images of other photographers while the judge critiqued them. Then came mine. My first photographed appeared large on the screen. They called out the name of my photograph - Cam-Boy Dracula - 3rd Place. I almost died. The room full of professional photographers and others clapped. I was amazed. My second picture came up and he made just a suggestion to it. My third picture appeared. Lenny Zakim Bridge - 1st Place. I was numb. Everyone clapped again. I was so excited. I'm not sure if I smiled or what because I was just so surprised. I love my work, but I was so nervous about entering that I never even thought about winning. I will never forget that wonderful feeling. Wow, I love photography
