AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

The purpose of this message is to inform you that we have already begun to work on Optica 2008, the Gijón International Festival of Video Art. Optica' s aim, organized by the cultural collective Interferencias, is the promotion of audiovisual culture. The Festival will take place in the city of Gijon (Asturias, Spain) from November 6th to 8th. For further information consult our web-site: http://www.opticafestival.com.

Optica 2008 is divided into different sections: independent artists, galleries, documentary section, meetings with artists, performances and parties.

Note for galleries: Optica Festival offers the opportunity of presenting new video works by emerging and established artists. The participation is through this invitation.

If you're inside the world of the video-art: independent artist, gallery owner, institution, curator..., it would be a pleasure to be able to count on your participation in our programme. To that end, we' d like to invite you to submit a proposal for this fourth edition.

The deadline for receiving works is 1st of September. Among all the works received, the Festival Jury will select four, which will be awarded with the prizes for Best Video Artworks, Optica 2008.
