Vox Novus, in collaboration with the Canadian Electroacoustic Community
(CEC), is inviting composers to submit recorded works 60 seconds or less
in duration to be included in the first Canadian version of the annual
60x60 project. 60 compositions will be selected to be played
continuously in a one-hour concert.

The international 60x60 project has been running annually since 2003 and
produced close to a 100 concerts and installations – some with dance,
multimedia, video, or sculptures – regular radio broadcasts, and 5 CDs.
In five years it presented the works of a large number of composers in
all career stages, including Laurie Spiegel, Allen Strange, Annea
Lockwood, Joan La Barbara, Maggi Payne, Daniel Goode, Andra McCartney,
Noah Creshevsky, Robert Dick, Serban Nichifor, Liana Alexandra , Oded
Zehavi, Eve Beglarian, Karlheinz Essl, Judith Shatin, and many others.

The Canadian 60x60 concert season will begin with a debut in Montréal
and continue throughout Canada in venues to be announced. Concerts may
also include a visual component (a clock, video clips, spectrographs,
dance, etc.). The works will also be broadcasted on radio stations and
featured on a Sonus.ca dedicated gallery. Please submit your recorded
work(s) and submission form(s) before 31 March (postmarked). You may
submit your works online or on a CDR; see submission guidelines below.
Your work may be selected for both the Canadian and the International
60x60 projects.

Eligibility:

The call is open to composers of all ages and career stages who live in
Canada, and to Canadian composers living in Canada or abroad. All other
composers may participate in the international 60x60 project (see below).

Vox Novus, en collaboration avec la Communauté Électroacoustique
Canadienne (CEC), invite présentement des compositeurs à soumettre
pièces préenregistrées d’une durée de 60 seconds ou moins dans le cadre
de la première édition canadienne du projet annuel 60x60. 60 pièces
feront partie de la sélection et jouées bout à bout lors d’un concert
d’une heure.

Le projet international de 60x60 a lieu chaque année depuis 2003. Près
de 100 concerts en ont découlé depuis, incluant des éléments de diverses
formes d'art telle la danse, les présentations multimédias, la vidéo, la
sculpture ainsi qu’une radiodiffusion constante et cinq CD. Durant cinq
ans, Le projet a présenté les travaux des plusieurs compositeurs,
incluant Laurie Spiegel, Allen Strange, Annea Lockwood, Joan La Barbara,
Maggi Payne, Daniel Goode, Andra McCartney, Noah Creshevsky, Robert
Dick, Serban Nichifor, Liana Alexandra , Oded Zehavi, Eve Beglarian,
Karlheinz Essl et Judith Shatin pour n'en nommer que quelques uns.

La saison de concert canadien 60x60 débutera à Montréal et se poursuivra
à travers le Canada dans des lieux encore à déterminer. Les concerts
pourront inclure une facette visuelle (une horloge, des vidéo-clips, des
spectrographes, de la danse, etc.). Les pièces seront également
diffusées dans des stations de radio et hébergées sur le site Sonus.ca.
Veuillez soumettre vos pièces préenregistrées ainsi que le formulaire
d’inscription avant le 31 mars 2008 (cachet de poste). Il est possible
de soumettre vos pièces via Internet ou sur CDR; veuillez vous référer
aux modalités ci-dessous. Votre pièce court la chance d’être
sélectionnée à la fois au projet 60x60 canadien et international.

Critères d’admission :

L’appel est ouvert aux compositeurs de tous âges et de tous niveaux
vivant au Canada, ainsi qu’aux compositeurs canadiens vivant à
l’étranger. Tout autres compositeurs peuvent participer au concours
60x60 international (voir ci-dessous).
