AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Go Native screening. Open to all Artists living in
Southern California working in Time Based Media.

Presented by: Los Angeles Art Association, FILM&VIDEO 825 in
cooperation with The Japanese American National Museum.

Theme: The thematic content for all submissions should serve as a
commentary and analysis of Los Angeles' current cultural, civic and
economic context. This LA themed screening at Democracy Forum at the
National Center for the Preservation of Democracy in conjunction with
The Japanese American National Museum is the time-based media
component of Los Angeles Art Association's (LAAA) city-wide Go Native
programming - allowing emerging film and video artists the opportunity
to participate in this important and culturally relevant project. Go
Native is a multi-destination, multi-media celebration of, and
commentary on Los Angeles as viewed by the community's local emerging
artists. Go Native is focused on two central goals: 1) To give
emerging artists the opportunity to comment on LA's cultural and
socio-economic landscape 2) To enhance and advance the important role
that these emerging artists play in Los Angeles's civic, economic and
cultural development.

The activities supported by LAAA's city-wide Go Native effort will
expand on a high-profile multi-media exhibition at LAAA's Gallery 825.
Go Native will also feature other complementary one-night offsite
programming and installations to further support the project goals.

Juror: Nicole Cohen, Artist. Nicole Cohen will be featured in the
upcoming installation, Please Be Seated: A Video Installation At the
J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Center on September 18th.

Where: Democracy Forum at the National Center for the Preservation of
Democracy.

Deadline to Enter: August 1, 2007. (Entries may be dropped off in
person, or received by mail by 8/1/07.)

How to Enter:

1. Artists may submit up to 3 works; Either on VHS or DVD (NTSC
only, no PAL; tape/DVD can have multiple pieces)

2. Completed submission form available at

3. Artists must include a Brief bio or resume as well as a Brief
description of submission: 300 words or less per entry

4. Entry must include a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) with
sufficient postage for return materials.

Film & Video 825:
LAAA Film and Video 825 is a series of semi-monthly screenings of
locally, nationally and internationally recognized film and video
artists' work. Our mission is to provide a forum for presenting
experimental film and video in Los Angeles. In a city dominated by
Hollywood, venues such as ours become a necessity for artists working
in time-based media that is outside the mainstream of narrative
cinema. Our curatorial vision is open to both shorts and features in
experimental, performance, animation, and documentary forms.

Los Angeles Art Association:

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, LAAA's mission is to provide
opportunities, resources, services and exhibition venues for Los
Angeles artists, with an emphasis on emerging talent. Founded in 1925,
LAAA has launched the art careers of many celebrated artists and has
played a central role in the formation of Los Angeles' arts community.

Today, LAAA continues to play a central role in the Los Angeles arts
community by providing our artist members and the public with
exceptional exhibitions and programs, as well as a forum for exchange
and education through lectures, workshops and networking
opportunities. LAAA serves a broad cross section of artists of all
mediums, career levels and socio-economic backgrounds, including those
from low income communities. By supporting the emerging talent at the
