Far from Bollywood, film fest to focus on grassroots development
Filmmakers are invited to submit entries to a film festival in New
Delhi, India. The festival celebrates the use of information and
communication technology (ICT) as a tool for dealing with social
issues such as poverty, gender, health, human rights, education, and
governance. Application deadline: June 1.
The i4d Film Festival seeks to raise awareness and encourage
discussion about the use of ICT in strengthening grassroots social
movements. In addition to the exhibition of selected long- and short-
films, the festival will feature panel discussions and interactive
communication among participants.
All non-English submissions should be accompanied by English dubbing
or subtitles. The competition is free for all to enter.
The festival—a part of the eIndia forum— is being organized by the
Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies.
