Belmacz invites one and all writers and artists to involve and impart fond anecdotes and personal connections with London’s number 19 bus route for we are developing our autumnal group show paying homage to this iconic route.

The daily urban ennui intermingling with these landmark stops of moments past—a peculiar journeying microcosm through many of the metropolis’ moments of diverse definement—will be probed into and explored. The two floors of our Davies Street space are to be upper and lower deck, encompassing the differing atmospheres felt in the distinct compactness of the moving space.

We would like to include further participants who feel distinct affinity with this motive, and relevant tales, suggestions and applications will be considered.

Kindly share your stories / submissions by April 11 via gallery@belmacz.com. Once all is reviewed, we will be in touch with relevant submissions, given that the entry is curatorially suitable.

About
With a devotion to the proficiency of collaboration and the distinct designs which ensue, Belmacz utilises solo and thematic group exhibitions, alongside publishing and commission projects to nurture and initiate unique practices and conversations. Artists have proceeded to receive such accolades as the Frieze Artist Award, the German Short Film Award, and the Paul Hamlin Foundation Award for Artists.

Alluding to both Muggenburg’s founding vision as well as her expansive design practice, “Belmacz” is a composite name. Combining “Bel” from de Maupassant’s Bel Ami, “ma” an abbreviation of the Latin maximus, the letter combination “cz” found in Slavic languages, the title is a further allusion to the seminal Suzanne Belperron.

While in the showroom, Muggenburg entwines the eclectic and erudite within materials and references to create accomplished and utterly unique designs.

Belmacz is looking forward to contributions and presence.
