Application deadline: January 31, 2017

We are looking for a new curatorial and managerial team to run Shedhalle Zurich as of August 1, 2017 (3–4 people, 60–80% each, a total of 240%)
Since its founding in 1986, the Shedhalle has defined itself as a space for the production of contemporary art and culture, with a focus on the relationship of art, critical knowledge production, and political activism. The Shedhalle’s connection with the local art and culture scene and cultural political work are just as important as international networking and positioning. The Shedhalle is located on the grounds of the Rote Fabrik and integrates itself actively into the cultural happenings there.
The team is self-constituting and assumes general management and curatorship. The curatorial responsibilities include programming, mediation, production, archive, and public relations and membership work. General management comprises budget, personnel and accounting, fundraising, as well as administration and organization. All areas of activity are compensated equally.
Should certain areas of competence not be covered, it is possible to fill the positions in a second step. Applicants should have experience in the management and organization of cultural spaces, and intense interaction with contemporary art practices in connection with local and global social, technological, economic, ecological, and social changes.
Application material (German, French, or English) including a statement on the planned orientation of content and working method (1–2 pages) as well as documentation of past projects can be sent in digital form (PDF, max. 10 MB, max. 20 pages) until January 31, 2017 to vorstand@shedhalle.ch.
Interviews will take place in early March. On the occasion of the call, the Shedhalle board of directors has organized a public workshop on organizational forms, production relations, and working conditions of critical art institutions, which will take place on January 14–15, 2017.
