HIRING: ARTIST CATALYST

The Artist Catalyst is a new position developed to cultivate relationships on behalf of The LP with community leaders and local residents in Longwood / Hunts Point in The Bronx. Working as both a community organizer and artist, the purpose of the Artist Catalyst is to build relationships and collaborate with neighbors and the LP staff on new and existing neighborhood initiatives. FELLOWSHIP

The Laundromat Project offers a six-month series of workshops and programs for artists interested in developing or deepening their practice of making socially relevant, socially-engaged art. Our Fellowship program exists in a near-vacuum of effective, affordable, intensive training for artists interested in learning how to do community-based, social practice work better and deeper.

RESIDENCY

The Laundromat Project offers a six-month residency program for artists interested in developing and mounting a socially-engaged, socially-relevant, and participatory public art project in their local laundromat, community gathering and/or other everyday public spaces. The residency is open to artists of color living and/or deeply invested in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Harlem, and Hunts Point / Longwood.
