Theatre Of Hearts/Youth First (TOHYF) is a 501(c)3 community-based organization whose mission is to prevent and intervene in youth violence by involving underserved, low-income youth and their families in extended, high-quality, standards-based, multidisciplinary fine arts educational workshops. TOHYF works with at-risk youth ages 4-18 at schools, probation facilities, and community-based sites in Los Angeles County and Orange County. Since 1992, our Youth First Artist-In-Residence Program has successfully provided over 100,000 youth with a safe and positive environment allowing them the freedom of self-expression. By conducting arts workshops through TOHYF, professional artists will help underserved youth learn important skills extending beyond the arts, including self-esteem, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
