The Los Angeles County Arts Commission is seeking a full time Program Manager, Arts Education. Reporting to the Senior Manager, candidate will provide analysis, development and administration of strategies for expanding K-12 teaching and learning in the arts and for building political and public will for arts education. Arts for All is the Los Angeles County arts education initiative dedicated to making the arts core in K-12 public education. Established in 2002 by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Arts for All supports and connects school districts and arts organizations working to advance quality arts education for the County's 1.6 million public school students. Arts for All is implemented as a partnership between the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs and facilitates arts education workshops, forums and events throughout Los Angeles, including identification, contracting and management of presenters Develops and implements systems for building and supporting Linked Learning Arts, Media and Entertainment Pathways throughout the County Manages partnerships with other County departments, including the Office of Education, Probation and Mental Health, to ensure LA County’s incarcerated youth receive arts instruction as a core part of their education Liaisons with local, state and national advocacy organizations. Manages collaboration with regional advocacy partner to implement strategies for building political and public will for arts education Contributes arts education content knowledge as part of a team to inform program design and implementation Builds relationships with administrators in assigned school districts, becomes knowledgeable of arts education strategies employed there, and connects district personnel with resources that will help advance arts education in their districts Builds and maintains relationships with community arts partners; connects them with resources that will help advance their knowledge and skills in arts education Monitors program effectiveness and supports grant reporting; makes recommendations for refining program content and design Develops and processes contracts and invoices; tracks program budgets; monitors contracts to ensure reporting compliance

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in an arts discipline or in a field such as arts administration, education or public policy Minimum of five years project management experience in arts education Experience implementing professional development programs for artists, teachers, and/or school districts Experience guiding or overseeing the work of others Knowledge of California education and arts education issues including arts integration, Common Core State Standards, National Core Arts Standards, arts education assessment, Linked Learning Pathways and other timely topics Knowledge of promising practices associated with implementing arts instruction within the juvenile justice system Demonstrated interest in supporting a large scale public education initiative Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information in a poised manner and interact effectively with a wide variety of colleagues and constituents both on- and off-site Advanced computer skills with complete fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILLS:
Experience developing opportunities for students while incarcerated and upon return to their communities Master’s degree

Candidate must be dependable, flexible and possess enthusiasm and dedication for the arts and the task at hand.

COMPENSATION: This is a full time, salaried position: $54,920 - $72,003 with comprehensive benefits, including matching deferred savings plans and retirement. Placement within the range will be commensurate with candidate's qualifications and salary history.
