*LAXART Fall 2013 Internship*
LAXART is committed to the professional development of an intern.
Candidates should have an interest in art and a desire to learn about and
participate in the arts community.
Strong writing skills are essential, along with an attention to detail and
ability to complete projects independently, proficiency in Microsoft
Office, and a willingness to interact with the public during events and
openings and make connections within the community.
Internships entail a variety of responsibilities including assistance with
the organization of exhibitions and fundraising events, compiling artist
press packets, assisting with visitor services, artist assistance during
installation, and curatorial research for upcoming projects. Basic
administrative duties include organization of all databases, filing and
archiving, as well as writing emails, and answering phones.
The internship period will start as soon as possible and continue for a
three month period. It can be offered for course credit if needed.
Interns are required to work at least two consecutive full days per week
during gallery hours: 11am - 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
