New Position Opens with The Foundry Theatre

The award-winning Foundry Theatre invites ambitious artists, community organizers and non-profit mangers to apply for a new position within the company, currently titled Managing Producer.

This position joins our growing team of producers (from the arts and social justice organizing sectors) as we embark on the second phase of the company’s transition to a distributed leadership model, and together look to creatively “produce” the company itself.

The Managing Producer will lead and help refine – with current and future staff, and consultants - the company’s leadership transition and will take the lead in long-range capacity building strategies that support the company’s growth (fiscal planning, fundraising goals, staff and board development, public relations, etc). The position will ensure that all facets of managing the company are accounted for and distributed among the team of producers.

Furthermore, this role will be encouraged to take the lead on producing other discrete projects, e.g. social media initiatives, publications, etc. that help express and proliferate our multi-dimensional mission.
Qualifications include: background and demonstrated success in the aforementioned areas of work; meaningful experience leading or co-leading a non-profit performing arts or social justice organization (preferably in NYC) or a graduate degree in arts or non-profit management; passion for art and artistic practice; an affinity for progressive social justice work; and an interest in building and working within an innovative and evolving staff structure. Significant experience with finances, fundraising, strategic planning and contracts are required while experience in collaborative working environments is a plus.
The Foundry is strongly committed to equal opportunity employment and diversity in all areas. Salary and benefits are competitive within Off-Broadway theatre standards.
