This is a great opportunity for an innovative Los Angeles based theatre artist. Please note the two upcoming orientation dates
on June 17 and June 22. They are not mandatory, but for those
interested I will be answering questions about the application process
and defining further what we are looking for in a qualified applicant.

The application and information for the 2014 Sherwood Award is now up on the Center Theatre Group's website: www.CenterTheatreGroup.org/Sherwood. Please take a look at the information below and feel free to forward
this on to your colleagues, peers, collaborators, etc. This is an
amazing opportunity for local artists (living within Los Angeles County).

Since 1996, fifteen artists have received the $10,000
Sherwood Award, which was established in the memory of Richard E. Sherwood as
an endowed fund to support innovative, adventurous theatre artists working in
Los Angeles. Last November, Los Angeles Playwright and Director John Sinner,
Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Theatre Revelation, was presented
with the 2013 award at the annual Ovation Awards.

Beginning this year, an honorarium of $2500 will be awarded
to the two remaining finalists. Additionally, we will be incorporating
new ways to celebrate the Sherwood Award Finalists in the months leading up to
the Award Announcement, allowing Finalists more involvement with Center Theatre
Group and our initiatives. Please note that artists can only be eligible for
the Finalist Honorarium for two consecutive years, after which they must wait
one calendar year before reapplying.

Please feel free to pass along this information to any of
your colleagues that you think would be suitable candidates for the award. We
will be hosting two Orientation Sessions for interested applicants with
Sherwood Award Programs Coordinator Lindsay Allbaugh. These sessions are
recommended, not required, but are available to anyone who would like more
information or clarification about the application process. Orientation
sessions will be held on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 7pm and Saturday, June 22,
2013 at 11 am at the Center Theatre Group offices at 601 W. Temple St. Los
Angeles, CA 90012. RSVP deadlines are available on the CTG website.
