As every year the Lepsien Art Foundation is tendering the International Grant Program 2013/14 'Emerging Talents' for Fine Art. In total five grants will be awarded to international artists in the disciplines Painting, Sculpture and Photography.

The Grant Program for the year 2013/14 will start on the 1st of September 2013 and will run until the 31st of August 2014. The official tender period where artists can apply starts on the 1st of April 2013 and ends on the 15th of June 2013. The closing date has been brought forwards due to high numbers of applications of the previous year. Applications outside the tender period will not be considered valid. For the first time a dedicated online application tool is at hand for all artists applying for the program on the website: www.lepsien-art-foundation.com.

Basic criteria for the application:
The candidates must have a degree from a recognized national or international art college/university and must have already gained some first public recognition (e.g. exhibitions, publications, etc.). Active students at the time of the application are excluded from the participation in the grant program. Applicants should not be older than 39 years at the time of applying for the grant program.

An integral part of the grant program is the provision of studio spaces in the Art House Düsseldorf, Germany (www.the-art-house.eu) where the five awarded artists will work together for the period of the program. Furthermore the program includes the production and publication of limited art editions (Edition Lepsien Art Foundation) jointly with all grant holders. At the end of the grant program a joint exhibition of all artists will take place and an annual catalogue will be published with the Kerber Group in connection with the final exhibition. In addition the grant holders become part of the network of the Lepsien Art Foundation and can establish contacts to other artists, art lovers, galleries and others. The Lepsien Art Foundation is taking from each artist two art works selected by a committee into the permanent collection which will be made available to public through exhibitions and catalogues. Per grant year one artist has the opportunity to receive the art patronage at the end of the grant program as an ongoing support.
All handed in applications will be reviewed and evaluated in accordance to clear criteria by a dedicated committee. The committee is set up members of the Lepsien Art Foundation and other external curators. During the last tender process for the grant program 2012/13 more than 320 highly professional applications reached the Lepsien Art Foundation from professional artists from all over the world.
All applicants being preselected on the shortlist will be invited for a telephone interview. The five awardees will be officially informed in writing the latest by the 1st of August 2013 about their nomination for the grant program.
