EAST WEST PLAYERSEast West Players (EWP) is a nonprofit 501c3
organization with a mission of producing artistic works and educational
programs that foster dialogue exploring Asian Pacific experiences. East
West Players is the nation's largest producing organization of Asian
American artistic work AND the longest-running professional theatre of
color in the country.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Manager's primary responsibility is
to oversee activities of the David Henry Hwang Theatre and the EWP
warehouse with regard to the main stage productions, arts education
programs, and other special events and rentals in all aspects of
production. The position is responsible for, but not limited to
coordinating/scheduling the theatre calendar, maintaining production
budgets, hiring of all technical and running crews, ordering supplies
and rental of equipment for production, assisting with the casting
process, coordinating rentals, and maintenance of facilities.

East West Players seeks a committed,
proactive, and personable individual who shares in East West
Players' aesthetic, which is enlightening, educational, innovative,
and community-specific. Interpersonal skills as well as technical
production knowledge must be exceptional. He/She must independently
initiate and pursue objectives in an organized and efficient manner,
prioritize activities, and maximizes team interaction to complete high
quality and timely work.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5-years experience working in
technical theatre, arts administration and a knowledge of the Los
Angeles theatre community at professional and educational levels.
College degree in technical theatre helpful though not required.
Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Knowledge of
the Asian American community and culture is strongly suggested.
Applicants must be capable of working in a collaborative team
environment and working independently. Ability to work under pressure
and meet deadlines.
