Elizabeth’s Canvas, an organization that empowers cancer patients and survivors through the creative process, is currently looking for teaching artists to provide weekly classes at outpatient Cancer treatment centers in Torrance and Downtown Los Angeles. One-hour classes are open to children, ages 3-18, receiving treatment at the centers and their parents. Curriculum must serve all levels of experience and be easily accessible for all levels of physical ability. Due to the fact that attendance will vary week to week, each class should result in a product of the art form (i.e. drawing, perform a musical piece, etc…). All art forms are welcome but we are currently in need of art/mixed media teachers.
Classes in Downtown Los Angeles are on Mondays and can occur between the hours of 9am – 12pm.Classes in Torrance are on Mondays and Tuesdays and can occur between the hours of 9am – 12pm. Pay ranges from $50 - $70 per hour and artist will be paid for a minimum of 1.5 hours.
Please email a cover letter including preferred location and times available, resume and sample lesson plan to John-David Perry at jdperry@elizabethscanvas.org.
