Programming Director, Grand Park

The Music Center Programming, Grand Park is seeking a visionary,
committed and experienced programming professional to join the new Grand
Park team. Grand Park is a beautiful 12 acre public park that adds
spirit and vitality to downtown Los Angeles. The Park stretches from
The Music Center on the west to City Hall on the East. The new park
celebrates the cultural life of Los Angeles County and is host to
community events, cultural experiences, and holiday celebrations amongst
other activities that engage and attract visitors.

Reporting to the Park Director, this qualified candidate will be
responsible for coordinating aspects of ongoing park programming
including original programming, existing Music Center programming held
at the park, partnership events and outside rentals. This individual
will play a critical role in helping achieve the vision of Grand Park
through quality programming that provides Angelinos of all walks of life
a place where they may come together to share memorable experiences.

Responsibilities:

* Works closely with the Park Director to formulate innovative,
enticing and diverse programming and long-term plans * Oversight and
management of key staff, Operations, Marketing, and Production *
Collaborate with park team to develop systems that ensure consistent,
high-quality project management; sets measurement metrics for success
* Flexible schedule, ability to work evenings and weekends * Creates
new and cultivates existing relationships with partner organizations and
vendors Communicates and coordinates with both internal and external
partners, including The Music Center and Los Angeles County * Serves
as proxy to the Park Director * Display unwavering commitment to
quality programming and excellence in project management; ensures
ongoing programmatic excellence * Prepares and manages the
programming events budget * Effectively creates and communicates
work plans * Ensures that programs are leveraged for maximum
community and organizational impact

Required skills and qualifications:

Grand Park is seeking an accomplished Programming Manager/Director with
at least 5 years of programming experience in and or around Los Angeles
County, ideally within a complex nonprofit organization. The ability to
engage a wide range of stakeholders and work cogently in collaboration
with diverse groups of people is crucial.

* Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent
experience required
* Polished communicator with excellent interpersonal and
multi-disciplinary project skills * Hands-on approach in effectively
leading projects and people * Self-starter, enthusiastic, with
leadership skills and the ability to work independently in an
entrepreneurial environment * High level of integrity and effective
time management skills * Strong work ethic with leadership,
judgment and analytical skills * Successful track record in
setting priorities, developing relationships and working effectively
under pressure * Experience with programming outdoor events

Salary range: $55,000 – $60,000 a year commensurate with experience.
This is an exempt/non-exempt position. Compensation package includes
medical, dental and vision health plans, welfare insurance benefits,
401(k) plan; generous vacation and sick days.
