Tate Modern is one of the world's great museums of modern and contemporary art. Since opening in May 2000, more than 40 million people have visited Tate Modern. As Head of Exhibitions, you will be joining us as we launch the opening of the oil tanks in the summer of 2012 and are planning for the transformation of the gallery spaces due to be delivered by 2016.
You will work as one of the senior management team reporting to the Director of Tate Modern, Chris Dercon. You will contribute to the overall delivery of the public programme for Tate Modern including acquisitions and have lead responsibility for the development of content for Tate Modern's programme of exhibitions, commissions, film and live events.
Recognised for your artistic vision and innovation in the conception and execution of exhibition programmes, you will have scholarly expertise in at least one area of pre-second-world-war art, a wide knowledge of contemporary global artistic practices and photography and an understanding of the challenges of working with live art, performance and film. You will be able to combine your curatorial flair with excellent operational and leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively and make an effective contribution to a senior management team. The ability to inspire your colleagues, share your expertise and support the development of our curatorial team is essential. International in your outlook, the ability to speak a second language would also be an advantage.
