AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

The Autry seeks a Lead Preparator to plan and oversee the production of
exhibition furniture and casework, and the construction of gallery
spaces. The Lead Preparator supervises Preparator tasks, interprets
design materials, prioritizes and maintains supply inventory, and
ensures safety protocols are maintained. He/she must be able to design
and fabricate mounts, read and build from architectural plans, and
provide training to Preparators. The Lead Preparator oversees and
documents the maintenance of tools, equipment, and lifts. This position
reports to the Head Preparator.

Qualifications
5 years of experience as an art handler and 5 years of experience in
carpentry and/or metal work.
2 years of supervisory experience
BA, BFA, or equivalent education, with an emphasis in Art, Art History,
or History

Must be able to perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling,
pulling, pushing, climbing ladders, standing for long periods of time,
and lifting up to 60 pounds. Involves working in woodshop, warehouse
spaces, storage areas, and galleries.
