The inaugural exposition CHICAGO will feature international contemporary, modern and design galleries debuting at Chicago's historic Navy Pier, September 19–23, 2012.

The Application deadline is November 14, 2011.

exposition CHICAGO draws upon Chicago's rich history as a preeminent cultural destination, and will distinguish itself by maintaining an ardent commitment to quality and by returning to the historic venue that hosted a leading international art fair for over two decades. exposition CHICAGO will limit the number of participating galleries to no more than 100 exhibitors and establish a Selection Committee of internationally respected dealers to ensure the highest standards of artwork and special programming.

exposition CHICAGO will retain the services of a noted architect and designer to create cohesive interior environment, maximizing Festival Hall's 55' | 16.7m ceiling height and 170,000 sq.ft. | 16,700m2 of space, to present a patron-friendly floor plan with curated exhibitions, special site-specific installations, designer lounges, concession areas and spacious terraces overlooking Lake Michigan and Chicago's iconic skyline.

The exposition will provide generous-sized exhibition stands with numerous outside display walls, state-of-the-art 12' walls and lighting, 20' carpeted viewing aisles and the unique opportunity to present large-scale installations and site-specific work within the exposition.

For 2012 the exposition has introduced an over-arching theme—Discovery—to focus the special programming and to provide a creative thread for the keynote dialogues, special installations, public art projects and special events occurring at the Pier and throughout the city.

"exposition CHICAGO is about looking forward in theme, scope and presentation" notes Tony Karman, President | Director. "In the true spirit of the word 'exposition'—we will adhere to the highest standards of quality in every aspect of the event, to present an unmatched experience of curated international artwork for collectors, curators and arts enthusiasts to explore."

exposition CHICAGO will also take full advantage of the extraordinary Fall season by collaborating with Chicago's renowned museums, cultural institutions, not-for-profits, art galleries, restaurants and hotels to offer special programming and events designed to attract collectors, prominent curators and arts professionals to experience the vibrancy of our great city.
