Development Coordinator

Job Description

P.S. ARTS, one of L.A.'s premier arts education organizations, seeks an
energetic and reliable Development Coordinator to assist with events
planning and fundraising efforts. The Development Coordinator will support
the Advancement Department and the Director of Communications & Advancement.
He/she will assist in the day-to-day operations including written and oral
communications, events planning, budget and donation tracking, membership
program implementation, coordination of a grant calendar, and prospect
research. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills,
and an interest in non-profit events, marketing, and fundraising.

Start Date: August 1, 2010

Location: Mar Vista, CA

Specific Functions and Qualifications:

1. Assist the Advancement Department in planning events, answering
phones, managing projects, organizing event meetings, creating/editing
correspondence and marketing materials, managing database, providing support
for event leadership and volunteers on event days.
2. Support all Advancement Committees and event leadership on a
project-by-project basis. Attend meetings as required.
3. Ability to use personal automobile for errands.
4. Have a working knowledge of multiple telephone operations, Macs, MS
Word/Excel/PowerPoint, e-mail and internet programs. Raiser's Edge
experience preferred but not required.
5. Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed.
6. Bachelor's degree and one year work experience required.
7. Have an unflappable, positive attitude, a penchant for detail and
multi-tasking, and a love for the arts and working with volunteers!

Salary $28,000-$32,000.
