The Feitelson Foundation award was conceived by the Feitelsons, seminal Los Angeles Modernist painters, as a way to give encouragement to artists early in their careers by offering financial grants.
ELIGIBILITY
The Feitelson Arts Fellowship award is granted to an individual who works in the following media: painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, installation and/or new genre. Artists must live and work in Southern California. The 2010 Feitelson Fellowship is $5,000 and the winner will be awarded with a solo exhibition in the Project Room of the Los Angeles Art Municipal Gallery in conjunction with the COLA mid-career artists' exhibition, May 20–July 18, 2010. Artists who have been awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts or a Bachelor of Arts degree in art prior to May 2000 are not eligible. Applicants are not eligible if they have had solo museum exhibitions or had works purchased by a museum. The selection panel's decision will be final. Department of Cultural Affairs Employees are not eligible.
