Support Ventura Artists 2010

Information For Artists:

Sylvia White Gallery is hosting an unusual Valentine's Day Gala that will include a juried art
auction. Ventura County artists may submit up to 3 pieces for consideration. Pieces
accepted in the show will be in a silent auction at the Gala. Minimum bids will start at 25%
retail value, artists will receive 50% of the final sales price. In addition, each artist juried
into the show will be entered in a lottery, winner to be picked at the event. Winners will
each receive $1000 Art Advance, to be used in any way they wish to further their
career. The number of winners will be determined by the amount of money raised. The only
stipulation is that the money be spent within the city limits. This event is designed, in part,
to supplement part of what the city lost when Prop A was defeated. As a show of support to
encourage our commitment to Ventura: Calfornia's New Art City, Sylvia White Gallery is
proud to institute the first annual Valentine's Day Art Advance (thanks, Schaf) Every artist
who enters, will be given one free ticket to the event. Artists may purchase one additional
ticket for $25.

Deadline for entries: January 30 5pm

Artists must live or work in Ventura County.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces, no larger than 36"x36"
There is no fee to apply.
Artists must submit digital images via email only to juriedshow@artadvice.com
Hand delivered entries or entries received via US postal service will not be accepted. Emails
sent to any other email address will not be processed.

Email applications must include:
1.) artists name
2.) address
3.) telephone number
4.) JPEG images of the artwork, please limit image file sizes to 5MB
5.) Image details including: Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price

If selected, artwork must be professionally framed, ready for hanging and available for
sale. Artist agrees to accept 50% of the final sales price, which in some cases may be 25%
of the retail value.

Jurors will be Elena Brokaw, City of Ventura, Sylvia White, Sylvia White Gallery, Tim
Schiffer, Museum of Ventura County.
