People from every generation can say:
"I've seen it,
I've heard it,
I've read it,
I've felt it,
I've had it,
I've made it,
I've said it,
I'm saying it."
So, what is "it?"
We moved our exhibition venue this year to Fremantle and found we had a very appreciative audience, both in sales and comments. Today we have a group meeting to discuss the exhibition, how we might improve it and, of course, where to hold next year's exhibition. There are some pictures from the exhibition on my blog: http://maureengrantham.blogspot.com/

Get over the fear of rejection. I'm to the point of wanting to go out into the world and show my "stuff" to shops, but I am so afraid of them saying "no". Now, I know that that, in fact, won't kill me, but what if it kills some of the art in me? How do you take that first step? The one that opens you to pain somewhat similar to dating again after losing a loved one?
Not to be overly redundant, but yes, I am being redundant but only to reinforce this great gallery event!
If anyone out there is in the Portland, Maine area tomorrow, you are invited to attend the First Friday Art Walk when the city's galleries and museum are open and free to the public -- including our gallery: The Time Gallery.
Tomorrow's exhibit, "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral," will feature the paintings and drawings of Portland artist Gail Wartell with catering by Burt Wartell. Music proviced by clasical guitartis Chuck Muldoon.
Date: Dec. 1
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Place: 47 Portland Street
Hello again everyone and I do hope that all is very well with everybody.
I have been so busy lately (it must be the season) and hardly had time to chill out here with all you talented people.
So,what have I been doing? I am now networking with U.K. artists (telling them about AMP, of course) so, hopefully will be seeing some joining us here. I have also been creating my artworks and I have added a few more to my 'Artworks' online.
I am also concerning myself greatly with local ecology issues on our Norfolk Broads, because are not going to be here much longer, as they are under extreme threat from encroaching seawater. I want to get out there now and express my appreciations of the natural beauty of the area before it turns to a vast salt marsh. I have put a link on my website if anyone wants to see the area I am talking about. Just recently the sea broke in and thousands of freshwater fish died.
The other day I visited Chip Foley, who works at Prosthodontics Associates in South Portland. After a fairly in-depth tour of the lab, he brought out all of the dental sculpting waxes and wax tools and I just sat in his lab for an hour and a half just trying them all. I'm most accustomed to using hard modeling waxes which aren't really useful for additive modelling, or really soft waxes which aren't very good for carving. Injection waxes are ok for both, but these waxes he let me use were great. They are taylor made for hot sculpting as well as carving. They are also opaque and come in several different colors-beige, brown, mint green, red.
My etsy store has a variety of drawings, paintings, prints, and jewelry for sale. Please check it out if only just to see my work!
