AMP: Artists' Meeting Place and Resource Collective

As part of New York City's Age-Friendly NYC initiatives, the Department of
Cultural Affairs has worked with the City's local arts councils and the
Department for the Aging on Space for Art, a new program that makes free
studio space available for artists in senior centers across the five
boroughs. Through Space for Art, artists provide programming at their
senior center in exchange for free work space.

Applications for participation are available through the local arts
councils. Due dates vary (see below). Please alert the artists and
teaching artists with whom you work about this exciting new opportunity.

NYC's renowned outdoor political spectacular theatrical company is seeking
Acrobats, Jugglers, Physical Comedians, Stilt Dancers, Rope Walkers and
other Extraordinary Performers for our September 2010 tour of New York City
parks.

Circus Amok is a one ring, no animal NON-PROFIT circus/theater company
dedicated to social change and fabulous spectacle.

Auditions will be held at our Brooklyn Rehearsal Space:
Saturday, January 23 - 3:00pm-5:30pm

Rehearsals run May through August with approximately 15-20 paid performances
in September.

Overview and Requirements
The Hollywood Entertainment Museum (HEM) is currently seeking afterschool instructors to teach students:

VIDEO PRODUCTION
AUDIO PRODUCTION
DRAWING/ANIMATION
SCRIPTWRITING

We have 3 Printmaker positions available. One position is for our South LA location; one for our Downtown LA location and one for our San Pedro location. Please indicate which location you are interested in applying for.

We nurture gifted artists with developmental disabilities. Our success is due to the chemistry between the Artists and Art Instructors who use their personal artmaking process to guide our artists through their projects.

We are looking for individuals who:
1. Are technically skilled, but isn't obsessed with it.
2. Can think outside the box with projects
3. Is intuitive and creative
4. Has an extensive portfolio and strong work ethic
5. Loves contemporary art and has a strong knowledge of contemporary artists.
6. Has patience

Reports to: Director of Programs
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Full-time (schedule may vary)
Salary Range: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour

CALL FOR PERFORMERS

Boston Court Performing Arts Center seeks local applicants for its 2010 "ARTTalk."

"ARTTalk" is scheduled to take place in the Marjorie Branson Performance Space at Boston Court March 20th from 11:00am until 5:00pm.

Participants will be allotted one half hour to perform a piece that focuses on Communication. All performances must be acoustical in nature. Boston Court will provide general lighting and no rehearsal time is allotted.

Previous performance genres include poetry, storytelling, singing, and theatrical performances. Participants will be provided a small stipend.

The only art fair to really attract new buyers as well as an existing collector base to browse amongst thousands of contemporary artworks priced between 100 - 8,000 SGD (USD 5,800).


The Affordable Art Fair Singapore will launch its inaugural edition in Suntec Singapore, Level 6 from 22 - 25 April 2010.

The Affordable Art Fair, which already takes place in London, Bristol, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels & New York with sister fairs in Sydney and Melbourne, has a proven track record of success. The fairs have attracted more than 650,000 visitors worldwide and sold in excess of 100 million GBP worth of art since its first event in 1999. 
 


The Brea Art Gallery is now calling for entries through January 25, 2010 to present next year's Made In California exhibit. This very popular show will be the 25th annual juried exhibition and will run from March 27 – May 7, 2010. The prospectus is available online or at the Brea Art Gallery.
